Some manufacturers of suspension assemblies used in hard disk drives conspired to fix prices on these electronics components, increasing the costs for consumers on a wide range of electronics. If you purchased an external hard drive or electronic containing a hard drive, you may have paid a higher price due to illegal price fixing by a group of suspension assembly manufacturers.
A group that plead guilty to price fixing conspiracies that is still reportedly under investigation by the Department of Justice and makes up as much as 90% of the hard disk drive market. Almost all devices and hard drives purchased between 2008 and 2016 may have affected by the pricing fixing collusion. Did you purchase any of these electronics?
If you’ve purchased any of these items that included an hard disk drive between 2008 and 2016, you may have a claim:
- external HDD for stand-alone electronic storage
- laptop computer
- desktop computer
- gaming system
- printer
- copy machine
Consumers who purchased these parts that includes a HDD containing a HDD suspension assembly manufactured by the defendants may have a claim.
